We are currently seeking Geotechnical Field Technicians for our office in Quakertown and York, Pennsylvania offices. Primary responsibilities will be observation and testing of roadway construction, including fill placement, chemical stabilization of soils, aggregate subbase placement, and asphalt paving. The technician is responsible for evaluation of soil stability, observing construction practices, moisture density testing of soils and aggregate, compaction testing of asphalt, preparing daily reports that document the construction activities, and coordinating with contractor.
The position requires early start times, lengthy daily hours, and possible weekend work. This position is paid on an hourly basis. Any hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week will be paid at one and a half times the regular hourly rate. Mileage reimbursement is also provided at the current IRS reimbursement rate.
Previous experience is desired but not a requirement. Must have High School diploma/G.E.D., own vehicle able to transport testing equipment, good driving record, like working with people, and enjoy working outdoors.
