Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA), a national geotechnical engineering and environmental consulting firm, is pleased to announce the opening of their new New York City Metropolitan office in Little Ferry, New Jersey. The New York City Metro office allows GTA to better provide their established brand of geotechnical and environmental services to clients on residential, commercial, and institutional projects in New York City and New York State (dba GTA Engineering Services of NY, P.C.), northern New Jersey, and southern Connecticut.
GTA specializes in services such as geotechnical design and subsurface exploration, geotechnical and foundation engineering, construction observation and materials testing, and environmental engineering. The firm also assists clients through risk identification and management as a client advocate.
GTA’s new office will be managed by Robert Dykstra, P.E., an Associate of the firm, who is a registered professional engineer in New York and New Jersey. With more than 24 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering, Mr. Dykstra is particularly knowledgeable of the New York Metropolitan area market and geology. He is responsible for coordination of subsurface exploration operations, lab testing, and preparation of geotechnical exploration reports, as well as, the design of driven piles, micro-piles, underpinning, support of excavation walls and other structures. His background includes providing technical assistance and oversight to field personnel during drilling and construction operations and testing for a variety of retail, commercial and residential projects in the New York Metro area. Mr. Dykstra’s field experience includes monitoring, testing, and evaluation of the placement/suitability of controlled fill, foundation soils, underpinning, slope stabilization measures, retaining walls, drilled shafts, micro-piles, driven piles and other various geotechnical and construction monitoring activities.
Current projects that the office is working on include the 21-story Riverwalk 7 residential building on Roosevelt Island, a 42-story hotel in Manhattan, numerous projects in Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens, and several projects in northern New Jersey including Brightview at Tenafly Assisted Living.
