TYLER FURR, P.G., PROMOTED TO GTA ASSOCIATE

We are delighted to announce the promotion of Tyler C. Furr, P.G., to Associate at GTA.

Tyler has over a decade of experience in geotechnical engineering and construction observation and testing (COT). Since joining GTA in 2024, he has played a pivotal role in expanding our presence in Western Pennsylvania, leading the launch and growth of our Pittsburgh operations.

As a licensed Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania, Tyler oversees a wide range of responsibilities, including subsurface exploration planning, geotechnical analysis and design, construction materials testing, team leadership, business development, and client relationship management. His technical expertise spans shallow and deep foundations, landslide prevention and remediation, horizontal directional drilling, rock excavation, pavement systems, groundwater and drainage, retaining walls, and slope stability.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from West Virginia University, and is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Pittsburgh Geological Society, NAIOP Pittsburgh (Developing Leaders), Society for Marketing Professional Services – Pittsburgh Chapter, and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Engineering Outreach’s Golf Committee.

Tyler’s project experience spans a broad range of markets, including residential, commercial, higher education, healthcare, water and wastewater, oil and gas, utilities, solar energy, municipal infrastructure, landfills, transportation, and heavy industrial sectors. He is currently managing several projects, including COT services for the Mylan Park Ice Rink, the PA Army National Guard Facility, Floor and Décor, and multiple residential developments. He is also overseeing geotechnical services for various data centers, solar sites, well pads, and natural gas gathering facilities.

Tyler’s ability to manage complex projects, maintain schedules and budgets, and build strong client relationships has made him a key leader within GTA.
