1769 Jerome Avenue, Bronx Borough, NY

  • Geotechnical engineering, support of excavation (SOE) design, special inspection services including deep foundation load testing, and review of Site Safety Plans for the new 16-story, 144,000-SF mixed-use building with 175 affordable residential units, a footprint of approximately 15,000 SF, and partial cellar level 10 feet below the sidewalk level.
  • The building is supported by a combination of footings bearing on rock and 180-ton caisson piles socketed into the highly weathered rock.

Paulsboro Marine Terminal Phase 2, Gloucester, NJ

  • Two new deep-water berths totaling over 1,500 linear feet of wharf face along the Delaware River and one 500-foot barge berth on Mantua Creek.
  • Quality control and observation and testing of site work, pile installation, reinforcing steel, cast-in-place concrete, post installed anchors, pre-cast concrete, and structural steel; laboratory testing; and engineering supervision and consultation.

2100 S. Tyron Street Office Building, Mecklenburg County, NC

  • Four-story, 80,000-SF office building in the vibrant South End District of Charlotte.
  • Geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and special inspections for the building and its surrounding site, including geo-pier foundation system design and installation monitoring.

The Highlands, Arlington County, VA

  • Part of the West Rosslyn Area Plan Study (WRAPS), a County-driven and community-involved redevelopment opportunity.
  • Geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and COT services for the 1,200,000-SF above grade complex with three high-rise towers containing upscale condominium and luxury apartment communities, and ground floor retail. The complex also includes four levels of below grade parking for approximately 1,050 cars.

Chemours Discovery Hub, Newark, DE

  • New three-story, 325,000-SF research facility.
  • The project is a redevelopment of a portion of the former Chrysler manufacturing facility, now part of the University of Delaware’s Science Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus.
  • GTA provided environmental, geotechnical, construction observation and testing services.

Laurel Elementary School, Sussex County, DE

  • 2019 ENR MidAtlantic Best Projects winner in the K-12 Education category.
  • New $35.4M, 151,958-SF elementary school which accommodates 1,200-students.
  • Geotechnical services, CPT soundings, SPT borings, infiltrometer testing, laboratory analysis.
  • Construction testing for site grading, subgrade soils and utility construction; bituminous concrete pavement; laboratory testing; and structural steel.

Atwater Village, Chester County, PA

  • Geotechnical and environmental consulting and COT services for the 147-acre mixed-use development with 549 single, twin, and townhomes, nine apartment buildings, a daycare facility, and four commercial pad sites.
  • Saved the client an estimated cost of over $2,000,000.

Ripken Center, Stadium, and Courtyard & Residence Inn by Marriott, Aberdeen, MD

  • Geotechnical engineering and COT services for the 155,000-SF, seven-story hotel, founded on 394 vibro-piers. Building design imitates the “Warehouse” building at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore.
  • Geotechnical engineering for the 44-acre summer camp including recommendations for foundations, slabs, retaining walls, pavements, and a stormwater management facility.
  • Geotechnical engineering and COT services for the 6,300-seat Ripken Stadium, including the use of lime-stabilization of parking and drive areas for pavement support.

Bel Air Auto Auction Stream Restoration Project, Harford County, MD

  • Stream restoration design, construction observation and project management for a 75-foot section of severely degraded and eroded channel that flows into the preserved wetland area.
  • State and federal wetland permits for permanent impacts to intermittent streams from development of the 175-acre Riverside East Business Park property.
  • Grading and the installation of imbricated rip-rap toe rock around two eroded stream bends to minimize further scouring and erosion during storm events.

LVHN – Specialty Care Pavilion, Northampton County, PA

  • COT services for a four-story, 161,000-SF Specialty Care Pavilion which includes obstetrics and newborn services, a center for patient rehabilitation, lobby space for a new gift shop, café, a children’s play center, and an outdoor courtyard.
  • Services included compaction testing of structural fills, footing subgrade evaluation, foundation and slab concrete testing, structural steel, masonry, fireproofing, and asphalt observations.
  • Also performed weekly site visits to observe and document the progress of the interior fit out.
