We are pleased to announce that Derek Ridinger has joined GTA as an Associate.
Derek Ridinger, P.E., with 13 years of professional experience, specializes in providing geotechnical engineering and construction observation and testing services for a wide variety of projects including residential, commercial, institutional, multi-use, high-rise residential, industrial parks, solar, electric transmission, oil and gas, and PennDOT projects. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Lafayette College and is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
As an Associate with GTA’s York, Pennsylvania office, Derek is responsible for management of the geotechnical group, including proposal preparation, execution of subsurface explorations, and the geotechnical analyses and subsequent reporting for a wide range of projects requiring carbonate studies, sinkhole repair, shallow and deep foundations, ground improvement, stormwater management, retaining walls, steepened and reinforced soil slopes, dam stability, and pavement design.
Derek is also responsible for geotechnical observations and recommendations during construction including proposal development, contract execution, and client consultation. Construction phase services include the monitoring, testing, and evaluation of structural fill placement, infiltration testing, settlement monitoring, slope stabilization, foundation and pavement construction, retaining walls, and other geotechnical-related construction activities. He is also responsible for staff training and management, business development, and client satisfaction.
With hundreds of infiltration projects completed and the ever-changing stormwater landscape in Pennsylvania, Derek has specialized in helping clients navigate the new NPDES permitting requirements to provide an economical, site-specific solution to satisfy state regulations.
