A Look Inside Life and Teamwork at GTA Charlotte

Since opening in 2006, our Charlotte, North Carolina office has grown from just a few associates to more than 45 across the field and office. Today, the team tackles construction observation, materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental work, and residential builder projects.
But beyond the work and job descriptions, what stands out there is the people. Over the years, the Charlotte team has built projects and a workplace where strong bonds and teamwork are created.
We stopped by recently to catch up with a few team members and asked them about their favorite projects, team-building outings, and what makes the office unique. Their answers paint a picture of a group that works hard, learns together, and genuinely enjoys being part of the same team.
John Moscati

I joined GTA back in 2018.
Can you share some of the team’s favorite team-building activities?
Yeah, we like to have a good time. We’ve gone to Topgolf, happy hours, axe throwing, escape rooms—lots of fun activities.
Can you tell me about recent projects the office is proud of?
We’ve worked on a lot of storage facilities recently. We’ve also done some office towers, apartment buildings, and quite a bit of land development for residential construction.
Is there anything that makes your office or team unique?
It’s a really young, energetic group. We treat each other like teammates and work for one another. Everyone comes from different backgrounds, but the camaraderie is strong. We respect each other, and everyone’s very passionate about what we’re doing here.

How long have you been with GTA?
I’ve been with GTA for three years as of this January.
What are your favorite team-building activities?
I really enjoy our office outings. Sometimes we do things in-house, sometimes we meet somewhere else. It’s always a great way to get everyone together, get to know each other a little better, talk about work and life, and it just really builds up the team.
Can you tell me about recent projects the office is proud of?
We’ve taken on a couple of huge subdivisions, with more than 500 single-family homes.
What makes your office or team unique?
We have a fairly young field staff, which brings a high level of interest and willingness to learn. No one’s really stuck in their ways, which makes a big difference.

Recently, we’ve been working on some pretty complex residential projects from a geotechnical standpoint. There’s been a lot of analysis and design involved. As they move into construction, it’ll be exciting to see how they come together.

This is a very young office, which keeps things fresh. We bring different perspectives to projects and day-to-day work, which makes it a fun place to come every day.
