RICHARD W. HAFFNER, P.E., S.I., NEW GTA ASSOCIATE

We are proud to announce the promotion of Richard W. Haffner, P.E., S.I., to an Associate at GTA

Rich joined GTA in 2023 and brought with him over three decades of experience in construction observation, materials testing, and special inspections. As a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida and Michigan and a certified Special Inspector, Rich has become an integral leader of GTA’s operations in Florida, particularly in managing threshold inspections and overseeing complex construction projects.

Rich holds a Master of Science in Quality Management from Eastern Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), and the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).

Rich’s responsibilities have included managing field and laboratory testing, coordinating inspections, preparing certification statements, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards. Throughout his 33-year career, Rich has led inspection and testing services for a wide range of high-profile projects, including projects at Walt Disney World and Orlando International Airport. 

His extensive technical knowledge, proven leadership, and commitment to quality have earned him the trust of clients across the public and private sectors.  Rich is currently managing several notable projects, including the Lumberyard District Apartments in Lake County, a redevelopment project within the City of Clermont that features four, 4-story multi-family buildings; the Ascend Kindred multi-family development in Osceola County; the Citrus Ridge multi-family development in Polk County; and the Fairfield Inn in Lake Mary, Seminole County, a 5-story cast-in-place concrete hotel.
