STUART G. BALLANCE PROMOTED TO ASSOCIATE

We are excited to share that Stuart G. Ballance has been promoted to Associate at GTA Associates, Inc.’s Raleigh, North Carolina office.

Stuart has been a vital part of our team since 2016 and has been a big part of growing GTA’s presence in NC since 2019. As an Associate, Stuart plays a critical role leading our construction services group in Raleigh. He is responsible for managing client relationships, managing projects, mentoring field staff, reviewing laboratory and field test results, preparing technical reports, and overseeing day-to-day operations within the COT department for a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects in the Triangle area and surrounding regions of North Carolina.

Stuart’s hands-on field experience includes earthwork observations, stormwater control measures (wet/dry ponds, bio-ponds, underground detention), chemical soil stabilization, asphalt placement and coring, foundation inspections, cast-in-place concrete, retaining walls, NC Building Code – Chapter 17 Special Inspection, and other various geotechnical and construction monitoring activities. His commitment to quality, safety, and client satisfaction has made him a trusted leader in the field.

Holding an Associate of Science degree from Harford Community College, Stuart also maintains certifications in nuclear gauge operation, concrete and soils testing, NCDOT’s Quality Management System, and erosion and sediment control. In addition, he is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA), and American Concrete Institute (ACI).

Stuart’s leadership and technical oversight have been instrumental in delivering high-quality construction materials testing and inspection services across a wide range of sectors. He has served as Project Manager for numerous large-scale projects in North Carolina, including Bloc [83] high-rise office buildings and parking structures, Macon Pond Medical Office Building, NC55 and Hopson Industrial Development, and Colonial Pipeline infrastructure projects. Stuart is actively managing several high-profile projects in the triangle area, including Welcome Venture Park, a planned 160-acre industrial campus; NC55 and Hopson, a 240-acre industrial park; and Middle Creek Commons, a 35-acre commercial and retail development.
