Piazza Alta – Phase 2 (Buildings B & G), Philadelphia, PA

GTA is providing comprehensive Construction Observation and Materials Testing (CoMET) and Special  Inspection services for Piazza Alta Phase 2, the next major expansion of Post Brothers’ 28-acre  master-planned development in Northern Liberties. Phase 2 includes the construction of two new  overbuild residential structures—Buildings B and G—constructed atop podiums completed during Phase  1, adding 431 additional units to the Piazza Alta campus. 

The project consists of a nine-story vertical overbuild on Building B (Levels 9–17) and an eight-story  overbuild on Building G (Levels 2–11), requiring extensive coordination of cast-in-place concrete, structural  steel, cold-formed steel (CFS) wall systems, and post-installed anchorage. GTA’s services include concrete  testing and cylinder fabrication, reinforcing steel inspections, structural steel and welding observations,  metal deck and shear-connector verification, CFS framing inspections, and PICA anchor observations. 

Our work supports Post Brothers’ continued investment in high-density urban residential development  and builds on GTA’s successful involvement in Piazza Alta Phase 1, where we provided Special Inspection  services. The Phase 2 expansion is currently under construction, with completion targeted for 2027.
