Wanaque Municipal Building

GTA provided environmental consulting, subsurface exploration, and geotechnical engineering services for the new City Hall and Police Station with two 9,000-SF floors plus a half-occupied basement (27,000 SF). The facility houses administrative offices, the Municipal Court, and the Police Department. The municipal court includes a 140-seat courtroom, court administrator’s office, judge’s office, mediation room and prosecutor’s office, plus a dedicated lobby and public bathrooms. Separation of police vehicle from the public and pedestrians was an important site planning issue.

GTA performed a Phase I ESA of the subject property located at 579 Ringwood Avenue in Passaic County in general accordance with applicable standards as set forth by the ASTM International, Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process (E1527-05). The site was occupied by the existing Wanaque Town Hall building, two single-family residences and three ancillary structures which would be demolished to accommodate the proposed construction.
